Wanted to bring to your notice that I am unable to use the program, because I am not able to browse through my files throught the browser pane in the program...

Can you please tell us what kind of OS (windows version) you are using and what kind of device (hd, cd, usb, etc) you are browsing so we can try to recreate this behavier?

Thanks for the response...

I use Windows XP (SP2)
I was browsing my Hard Disk

I would like to mention that I have 3 partitions in my Hard Disk (C, D, E)
I am able to view the contents of C:, but not D: and E: :)

Sorry for the delay in answering you. The components used for directory browsing in "You Name It" where initially created for Windows NT4. So far we have found no problems using the program on the XP and Vista platform, but the image you’ve uploaded to this forum clearly shows that issues may occur on certain conditions.

As our test on a disk divided in three partitions does not reproduce the problem I’m afraid we need some additional information. Can you tell us what kind of partitions you are using (primary, extended, basic, dynamic, etc.) and how the disks are formatted (fat. fat32, ntfs, etc.).

We've done several tests during the last weeks by using multiple configurations but are unable to duplicate the reported issues. Tests have been done on both XP and Vista using You Name It versions 0.98/4.011 (default installer) and 0.98/04.116 (beta update). Besides some bugs that have already our attention, file browsing works just fine. Below we’ve included some snapshots of our test results.

We are sorry that we are not able to help you, for now we can only advise to copy your images to another partition before you rename those images with You Name It. Besides that we recommend that also test your disk integrity as it seems that your other partitions just work fine.

Oh! :(

BTW, just for confirmation.. looking at the screenshots...

The D: and E: drives in my system are Extended Partitions and Logical Drives
They are not so in your screenshots!

Hope you have taken care of it :???:

As I wrote in our last reply "We've done several tests during the last weeks by using multiple configurations ". And yes, the tests did include your configuration with Primary and Extended partitions, including Logical drives, unfortunately the uploaded image is from a test with a different HD configuration.

As we find a solution we will inform you but for now there is really nothing we can do as you are the only user so far (that we know of) with this problem and we are unable, despite multiple tests, to replicate this behaviour.
